Mays’s story

Baghdad. Damascus. Austral.

Dr Mays graduated from Baghdad University in 2008 and began her career with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, delivering dental care in one of the most demanding public health settings in the world. In 2010, she made Australia her second home — and has been caring for patients in south-western Sydney ever since.

Mays is passionate about all aspects of dentistry. She focuses on providing thorough, high-quality care and makes a point of clearly explaining what is happening every step of the way in your appointment — something she learned is as important to patient comfort as the clinical work itself.

In addition to English, Dr Mays speaks Arabic and is a professional Arabic interpreter — a skill that makes a real difference for Arabic-speaking families across the south-western Sydney community who would otherwise navigate their dental care through a second language.

Outside of dentistry, Mays enjoys spending time with her family and her two children. She loves travel — visiting new places whenever she can — and Stockholm, Sweden, is her favourite destination.
