Dentist
Dr Katrina Nhan.
Dr Katrina Nhan has built her career across rural and remote New South Wales — Orange, Wagga Wagga, Dubbo, Albury — and Tasmania’s public dental system before joining Austral. She also teaches dental and oral health students at the University of Sydney.
Katrina’s story
Rural NSW, Tasmania, and now Austral
Dr Katrina Nhan graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Dental Science. She also holds a Bachelor of Oral Health (Therapy and Hygiene) and a TAFE Certificate III in Dental Assisting — three different ways into the same passion. There is no doubt where her focus lies: teeth and gums, and the long-term care of both.
Katrina has enjoyed a diverse career working across rural and remote areas of New South Wales, including Orange, Wagga Wagga, Dubbo and Albury. Before joining the Austral Dental Care family, she lived in beautiful Tasmania, where she worked in the public sector. That combination of rural, remote and public-dentistry experience shapes the way she treats patients today: calm, thorough, and steady, with a strong focus on the fundamentals.
She also shares her expertise as a clinical educator for University of Sydney dental and oral health students, teaching in the simulation clinic — so the habits she expects of students are the same ones she practises at Austral.
Katrina’s clinical passion is preventative and restorative dentistry. She believes that healthy gums and bones are the foundation for strong teeth and long-lasting dental work — a philosophy that shapes every treatment plan she writes.
When she’s not caring for patients at Austral, Katrina loves keeping active at the gym and unwinding with peaceful afternoon walks.
