Orthodontic Treatment
Straightening teeth for every age.
Orthodontics isn't just about looking good in photos. Straighter teeth are easier to clean, bite more evenly, and tend to last longer. We offer traditional braces and clear aligner options for children, teens and adults.
Why it matters
Crooked teeth are more than a cosmetic issue
Teeth that overlap or crowd together are harder to brush and floss, which means they collect more plaque and are more likely to develop decay and gum disease over time. An uneven bite can also put stress on certain teeth, wearing them down unevenly or contributing to jaw soreness. Fixing the alignment early saves dentistry later.
Your options
Braces or clear aligners
Traditional braces
Small brackets bonded to your teeth connected by a wire, adjusted every few weeks. They handle complex cases well and stay working 24/7 because you can't take them off.
Clear aligners
A series of custom-made clear trays you swap every one or two weeks. Almost invisible, removable for eating and brushing, and suited to a wide range of cases.
How we do it at Austral
Honest advice, the right tool for your case
We don't push one system over another. The right orthodontic tool depends on the complexity of your bite, your age, your lifestyle and your budget — and for some cases, clear aligners are genuinely the better option, while for others braces will do the job faster and more predictably.
At your consultation we take a 3D scan, walk you through the realistic timeline and cost for each option, and let you make the call with full information in front of you.
FAQs
Questions people usually ask
Am I too old for braces or aligners?
No. Healthy teeth can be moved at almost any age, and a good portion of our orthodontic patients are adults in their 30s, 40s and 50s. If your teeth and gums are healthy, treatment is usually straightforward.
What is the difference between braces and clear aligners?
Traditional braces use brackets and wires bonded to your teeth — they're powerful and effective for complex movements. Clear aligners are custom-made removable trays that you wear most of the day — they're almost invisible and you can take them out to eat and brush. Which is better depends on your case, not the marketing.
When should my child first see a dentist about their bite?
We recommend an orthodontic screening around age 6 or 7. Not because most kids need braces that early, but because some problems — crossbites, severe crowding, jaw growth issues — are much easier to correct when caught early.
How long does treatment take?
Anywhere from six months for minor cases to two years or more for complex ones. We give you a realistic estimate after your consultation so you know what you're signing up for.
